Shipping disruption and e-commerce demand driving up airfreight rates
The start of the airline summer season this month is likely to hit airfreight rates ...
Air cargo growth in July rose 5% year-on-year – the fastest growth since early 2015. But IATA has issued a health warning with this surprisingly pleasant news. FTK growth is only 3% over the year; July last year was pretty bad – in fact a low-point; and later results show that this momentum has slowed. However – so as not to end on a bad note – load factors have stabilised and Europe’s international traffic is up 6.3% year-on-year.
