Chennai will see its air freight station open today, some seven years since it was first put on the drawing board. GMR Hyderabad and Menzies Air Cargo will facilitate the movement of goods between the two airports in a bonded trucking service. Carriers which only fly to one of the airports will be able to source or send freight to the other via truck. At the moment, export cargo flies with a domestic carrier between the two airports.
