The Wall St Journal has published a thorough analysis of Amazon’s growing delivery network, being built from the ground up. Despite the company’s protest that it is not trying to take on the likes of FedEx, this report indicates otherwise. It claims that Amazon is looking at offering logistics services to other retailers, and could share warehouse space. Its recent influx of logistics professionals, including the former chief of UTi, plus its expanding network of facilities, certainly does suggest it has “brazen” grand plans.
