News from the Transport Logistics show that took place in Shanghai this week. Cargolux chief executive Dirk Reich was interviewed by the Journal of Commerce about the carrier’s strategy in China, given the 35% stake now owned by Henan Civil Aviation and Investment Co.  This could include investing or forming a joint-venture with other airlines to increase its Asian coverage, although the choicest quote in the article comes from Robert van der Weg, AirBridgeCargo’s senior vp of marketing (and, of course, previously a long-time Cargolux employee), “Move in too late and you will miss the bus, but move in too early and you lose your shirt.”

If this link does’t work, you may have more success putting “Cargolux ponders new joint venture airline” into Google.
