China's BAIC Motors follows Asian shippers to Mexico

A Chinese carmaker is to follow rivals to Mexico, where it will build an assembly plant. BAIC Motors’ move is part of a growing trend among Asian manufacturers to sell to Mexico, which has already imported 131,000 vehicles from Asia between January and June. BAIC said it would use Mexico for traditional and “new-energy” vehicles and automotive parts. It is also considering plans for the aviation and agricultural sectors.
