Andrew Barnes has been appointed UK sales director for US-based 3PL Crane Worldwide Logistics, starting in his new job on 1 April.
Mr Barnes is moving back to his native country after seven years with Crane -since 2009 he has been based in Indonesia – where he established its office in the country and was its managing director in the country.
Altogether he has spent some 18 years working in Asia, in a variety of roles for Crane, Kuehne + Nagel and Panalpina in Hong Kong, China and Indonesia.
Crane’s UK and Ireland country manager, Jason Stretton, said: “It is a great step forward for our team in the UK to welcome Andrew on board. Andrew has extensive knowledge of our industry working in both operational and sales roles across Asia-Pacific.
“This knowledge will not only benefit our team in the UK but also our customers exporting to and importing from these hotspots,” he added.
Mr Barnes will be based in Birmingham.
