Apparently yes – yesterday the Miami Herald ran a full-page advertisement from an organisation calling itself the Miami Seaport Alliance, which is opposing proposals put forward by the former England soccer captain to build a new football stadium in the port area as part of his plans to launch a team in the city. Port vs City ruckuses are always fun to watch – and with some local dockworker unions a part of the ‘no’ camp, this promises to be a cracker.
