DB Cargo UK is to cut up to 900 jobs – around 26% of its workforce – following a drop in demand. The Doncaster-based freight carrier said it was “a difficult time”, with dwindling volumes of coal and steel pushing it towards a restructure. DB Cargo is the UK’s largest rail freight haulier and employs about 3,400 people.
