Michael Hansen

DSV has appointed two new chief commercial officers: Michael Hansen (pictured above) taking responsibility for its air and sea division; and Wilbert Tholhuijsen appointed to its road division.

The firm now has a chief commercial officer at each of its four divisions, with Meinderdjan Botman responsible for solutions and Jenny Purchase heading sub Saharan Africa. All four will report to divisional chief executives.

Mr Hansen has been employed by DSV for more than three decades, spending 24 years as its executive vice president for Atlanta. Since 2012 he has been the group’s managing director.

Mr Tholhuijsen began his career in logistics in 1989, spending seven years as a project manager for Christian Salvesen, going to work for several firms including TNT and DHL. He joined DSV in 2009 and moves into his new role from the road and A&S division, where he held the position of director of global accounts.

Global chief commercial officer Rene Falch Olesen said that the appointments will ensure structure and consistency in its approach to global markers and customers.

“We are convinced that this strategic move will have that exact effect,” he added.
