Wales could be set for a freight boost after the Irish Sea was omitted from Europe’s Emissions Control Area rules for shipping. While the south and east coasts are included, other coastlines fall under the more lenient global sulfur cap, making west coast ports more attractive for lines to use up until 2020 when the cap falls to 0.5%.
