Emirates has had its first major “incident” after an aircraft caught fire during an emergency landing in Dubai. Happily, all passengers and crew were evacuated and there were no casualties. The 777 flight, on its way from Thiruvananthapuram in India, reportedly landed on its tail, causing its right wing to catch fire and part of the engine to fall off. There are now delays at DXB – and flights to Dubai are being held back in other airports, or re-routed to Sharjah. The Huffington Post has some good – if frightening – images.
