Etihad has stalled a possible battle with the new US administration, saying it is “very comfortable” with its network and has no expansion plans there. It seems likely that US airlines will ratchet up their complaints about the Gulf carriers, a move that perhaps might be muted by increasingly strong relations between the Middle Eastern carriers and Europe’s. This Bloomberg article also outlines Lufthansa’s growing partnership with Etihad. The pair this week announced maintenance and catering deals.
