John Good Shipping, one of the UK’s oldest ship agencies and forwarding companies, has launched an air freight division headed by former airline executive Ed Clarke.
John Good managing director Seamus Jennings said: “We have been looking to establish ourselves in the air freight industry for a while now. Air freight is not new to us, however we felt that in order to meet our customers’ requirements and provide competitive rates, a separate division needed to be established.
“We are extremely fortunate that we have been able to team up with Ed Clarke, a highly experienced and respected figure in the air freight industry, and after a long time spent considering the various options, we can now look forward to stamping our mark on the air freight industry.”
John Good Air will be based in Manchester, although the company’s air freight activities and import and export services will cover all main UK airports. The company also provides shipping services that include freight forwarding, liner and port agency, haulage, warehousing and customs clearance, and said its new division “will cement the company as a complete logistics provider delivering added benefits to its customers”.
