There is mounting evidence that near-shoring is a clear and present trend. The latest report is from KPMG, which found that the number of manufacturers considering offshoring production in China has significantly decreased, from 31% to 14%, while in India it has fallen from 12% to just 3%. While this report focuses on Canada, as one Canadian executive pointed out: “If Canada is doing it, so is the US.”
