Peter Scholten, former commercial chief of Saudia Cargo, has left Fast Logistics Group to set up his own management consultancy.

PAS Aviation Logistics, based in Dubai, aims to support companies looking for interim management and project consultancy. Directed at both airlines and air cargo businesses, as well as freight forwarders, Mr Scholten hopes to make use of his long experience in the industry.

“I always wanted to have my own business, but never made the step,” he said.

“At this point in my life, with 25 years’ international experience in air cargo and logistics, starting my own consultancy business while living in Dubai is the perfect time and place to finally make the big step.”

Mr Scholten headed the commercial arm of Saudia Cargo from 2010 to 2015, more than doubling its revenues under his tenure. He then moved to Fast Logistics Group as CEO, where he merged two brands, Fast Forward and First Priority. Fast specialised in trade in Africa, but challenges in the Nigerian market meant he had to restructure the forwarder.

PAS has teamed up with Logistics Executive Group in a partnership which will enhance the business advisory services offered by both organisations across the Middle East, Africa, Europe and Asia markets.

“Now I can add value to companies using my experience and network,” added Mr Scholten. “I am already working on a few projects with my partner Logistics Executive and have an interim management project starting in April.”
