It may be a bit late to the party, but India is attempting to counteract China’s One Belt One Road trade link to Europe with its own freight train service. Running from Bangladesh to Turkey, it will pass through Iran, and the Indian government is working with national railways, including Pakistan, to achieve it. A demonstration run over the 6,000km journey will be operated this year.
