Lufthansa is to cut Russian services, citing unprofitability. Flights between Frankfurt and Samara, Nizhny Novgorod and Moscow Vnukovo will cease at the end of August and start of September, leaving it serving only Moscow Domodedovo. The airline said it hoped to restore the flights but was forced to suspend them owing to lack of demand, a result of economic sanctions on Russia. Its website, however, indicates that it still operates a freighter service to Moscow Sheremetyevo.
