As the strike hitting US gateways of Los Angeles and Long Beach continues into its sixth day, talks to get clerical workers back to work are intensifying, with Los Angeles mayor Antonio Villaraigosa now involved. About a dozen container vessels are currently at anchor waiting to unload cargo, and another 10 are due to arrive at the ports today.
