Tauranga

Interesting item from last week’s World Cargo News on the latest developments in New Zealand and what is set to become one of Australasia’s chief hub ports, Tauranga. Maersk, the port and New Zealand’s giant cooperative diary exporter Fronterra have a 10-year supply chain deal, which has allowed Maersk to proceed with plans to dramatically upsize vessels serving the country from 4,500 teu to 9,500 tea, as its Asia-Australasia Triple Star service is set to be connected to the carrier’s Asia-South America services.
