Technology companies such as Uber are expected cause significant disruption in the logistics and delivery sector. This article, which reports on Uber poaching the head of Google Express, a delivery service which hopes to take on Amazon, is just the start of what could be a revolution in express services. One industry e-freight expert acknowledged that these companies “will eventually make their way all the way up to the core logistics businesses of air cargo, shipping and so on. It’s just the beginning. Like every major change, it can mean danger or opportunity depending on what we do about it.”
