Volga Dnepr appoints global directors for Aerospace, Humanitarian and Oil & Gas divisions

Volga-Dnepr Airlines has appointed three global directors to head its Aerospace, Humanitarian, and Oil & Gas sectors.

Axel Kaldschmidt will take charge of the aerospace vertical. Aerospace customers account for 30% of Volga-Dnepr’s business. Since its launch, the airline has operated over 5,250 flights for customers in the industry, delivering nearly 175,000 tonnes of cargo such as satellites, helicopters, aircraft and parts.

Fayçal Boumerkhoufa becomes global director, Oil & Gas, a sector that produces about 13% of the Group’s annual business –   so far it has seen Volga-Dnepr  transport 90,000 tonnes of cargo for O&G customers. The types of cargoes carried include drilling equipment, pumps, power houses, blowout preventers and “Christmas trees”, tube bundles, pipeline valves, compressors and control units.

The new global director of Humanitarian, Government & Defence programmes is Colon Miller. He will will work closely with customers on cargoes including mobile hospitals and other medical equipment, instruments and medicines, water purification equipment, laboratory containers, generators, telecom equipment, heavy trucks, cranes and other vehicles. To date, Volga-Dnepr has delivered more than 75,000 tonnes of cargo to people in need in 93 countries.

All three directors are based in Volga-Dnepr’s Houston office. They will introduce  a charter sales and marketing element and management structure for each sector, and build teams in the group’s regional offices.
