Here’s the argument that the world’s largest retailer has actually done rather well in meeting its sustainability commitments – its treatment of supply chain workers and the issue of zero-hours contracts notwithstanding. It has, however, almost hit its CO2 reduction target, set in 2005, through focusing on its truck fleet operations. Its ambitious goals regarding waste have been harder to meet, however.
