Carousel Logistics Group has appointed Thomas Griese (pictured above, left) as chief technology and operations officer and Marcel Andriessen (right) as chief sales officer.
The two have joined Carousel’s board as part of its European growth strategy, following its merger with leading high-speed logistics firm LSi Logistik last year, and the recent appointment of Franz-Joseph ‘FJ’ Miller as chairman.
Mr Miller has previously worked with both Mr Griese and Mr Andriessen at logistics company time:matters.
Carousel has announced ambitious growth plans for continental Europe in the coming years, as demand for specialist, high-performance service logistics continues to rise and these appointments follow the opening of its new sales and innovation centre in Frankfurt in June and investment in a new facility in Munich.
Mr Griese brings with him a “great wealth of experience in the development, roll-out and implementation of cloud and app-based systems and logistics service platforms”, and as the company continues to invest in technology, he will take the strategic lead on launching Carousel’s new service and technology platform, Gateway.
Meanwhile, Mr Andriessen will be responsible for all sales activities and will oversee growth, as Carousel seeks to continue expanding its service logistics offering to high-performance companies within key markets.
Mr Miller said: “I am thrilled to be working with Thomas and Marcel again. In the past we’ve had great success together and they are an excellent choice for driving forward Carousel’s ambitious growth strategy.”
Graham Martin, Carousel co-founder and chief executive, added: “Both Thomas and Marcel have a proven track-record for success in their respective areas, making them ideal candidates to join Carousel.
“Together, they make a formidable team, strengthening our growing European team to help us meet the ever-increasing demand for service-led logistics across Europe.”
