It’s a slightly ‘puffy’ piece (and note the dig at DHL), but the Sydney Morning Herald has interviewed the billionaire founder of WiseTech. Originally from the music industry, Richard White founded the increasingly noticeable A$5bn software company in 1994, excited by the opportunities he could see in logistics – a sector he called an “unholy mess”.

The company is thinking big – revenues are expected to grow 50% this year – but that is still just 2-3% of the logistics sector’s IT spend, allowing for plenty more room for growth. And while Mr White admits his customers’ competitive advantage from using WiseTech’s platform is a ‘slow burn’, he remains upbeat.
