Harald Gloy Lufthansa

Lufthansa Cargo has appointed Harald Gloy to its executive board, replacing Soren Stark who is to take up the position of chief operating officer for Lufthansa Technik.

Mr Gloy’s appointment will take effect from 1 January and sees him take on responsibility for operations – a post Mr Stark has held since 2016.

Mr Gloy will continue a near two-decade long association with the carrier, during which time he has held multiple roles.

Having graduated from Arizona State, he held a variety of roles within Lufthansa Technik Logistic before joining the Technik team in 2003 in its business development department.

He then took on a position heading up its aircraft overhaul business in 2006, based at offices in Hamburg, before moving to various management roles in component maintenance.

Following this, he was appointed to the component services unit in 2014, with a global responsibility.

Speaking on Mr Gloy’s appointment to the board, chairman Harry Hohmeister said he was “very pleased” with the decision.

“I am very pleased that we have been able to engage Harald Gloy, an experienced member of the Lufthansa team, as Board Member Operations”, said Mr Hohmeister.

“Thanks to his comprehensive experience in logistics and in managing large operational areas, he will continue to further guide Operations into the future and strengthen the role of Lufthansa Cargo in the face of strong competition.”

As board member for operations, Mr Gloy will be responsible for handling in Frankfurt, Munich and the Lufthansa Cargo Service Centre.

He will also handle the areas of global handling management, flight operations & transport management and security.
