Burlington Northern Santa Fe, the US’s second largest rail network, has eased its ban on moving containers to west coast ports. Implemented on Monday over concerns of congestion at the problem ports, the Warren Buffet-owned rail company said last night it would now accept containers going west as its “pipelines” had become more manageable. However, it acknowledged that normal supply chains flows continued to be affected.
