Another day, another ‘disruptive’ start-up. This one is called FreightKart, and promises much of what has already been touted by quicker-to-the-market start-ups. That is not to say that FreightKart – offering “a real-time, end-to-end portal which allows a customer to pose a query, compare price points and services, make a booking and do required payments online” – won’t succeed, just that it is not alone in this sector. And again, like Freightos and Flexport, it was born out of frustration with the existing players, the constant paper-chase and long waiting periods. “Over time, we had both experienced difficulties in our own dealings with shipping companies and their agents around the world,” says the founder. FreightKart is, of course, looking for investors.
