It’s finally happening. Cargo2000, the now-misnamed organisation which focuses on raising standards and creating efficiencies in air freight, is to be renamed at IATA’s World Cargo Symposium in March. Air Cargo News has interviewed new executive director Ariaen Zimmerman, who explains the priorities the organisation now has. A new technical director will be appointed next year, while the team has also expanded in Geneva. It is looking to attract SMEs, trailing a system of time stamps for shipments, and trying to improve information for shippers. Some 15 years after its name became out of date, there is progress at last.
