The Agriculture Transportation Coalition is asking the industry for advice on the ruling from China that imported US goods must be mosquito-free. The US has had one recorded case of the Zika virus, and China has said that with immediate effect, shipments must have a certificate to prove mosquitos have been exterminated. Without one, cargo must be fumigated – raising some problems for agricultural shipments. AgTrans is concerned about shipment delays, implementation and fumigation.
