Donald Trump has frozen US plans to limit the carriage of lithium-ion batteries in passenger aircraft. He wants to limit regulations which hold back business, despite concerns over safety. ICAO however continues to support a ban. IATA and others believe the trouble is limited to counterfeit batteries and those which are illegally packaged, and would prefer governments instead to focus on stopping counterfeits.
