The British International Freight Association (BIFA) has appointed Rachel Morley to its board of directors, replacing Carson McMullan who has stepped down after seven years.
For the past 19 years, Ms Morley has been BIFA member Spatial Global’s general manager of operations, after beginning her logistics career in 1990 as a shipping officer for Boot’s.
After three years with the high street retailer, she was briefly with HSBC where she qualified as a certified documentary credit specialist, before returning to logistics with Spatial in 1998.
Ms Morley is also a graduate member of the Institute of Exports.
Director general Robert Keen welcomed her appointment, adding that Ms Morley had played a prominent role in BIFA’s regional activities.
“I am also pleased that, while Carson has left the BIFA board, he wants to maintain his association and has been appointed a consultant representing BIFA in Northern Ireland,” he added.
Mr McMullan has been managing director of Northern Ireland freight forwarder All Route Shipping for more than 36 years.
