The automotive logistics market could see some change following Japan’s earthquake. Toyota, Mitsubishi and Honda are among those which have had to halt production, along with some silicon chip manufacturers, after the tragedy on Kyushu island last week. Production could be affected for several weeks, but since the last earthquake, auto makers have spent time making their supply chains more robust in case of disruption and should be able to source elsewhere in the meantime. Nevertheless, Toyota alone could lose production of some 56,000 vehicles.
