The ‘Uber’ model will not work for trucking, according to a new report by Armstrong & Associates. It argues that while the process of ‘digital freight matching’ is simple, trucking is not. It cites specialised equipment, use of different modes and handling requirements as potential problems an Uber-style app would not be able to solve. The report adds that there are “fundamental” differences in freight capacity and taxi capacity. MH&L News reports.
